FISH FOR YOUR SUPPER ....Charity Event in the Co_op Wednesday 13th May in Northallerton (Raising funds for RNID)

FISH FOR YOUR SUPPER…

AND RAISE MONEY FOR RNID

Co-operative staff in Northallerton are holding a fun-filled charity fishing competition, to help raise funds for their Charity of the Year, RNID. Staff from the Northallerton Co-operative food store on Boroughbridge Road, alongside keen competitors will be casting off from 11am – 4pm on Wednesday 13 May 2009. All money raised will go towards RNID’s vital ‘Hear to Help’ service.

Paul Hodgson, Northallerton Store Manager, said: “We are supporting RNID as our charity of the year to help change the world for the nine million people who are deaf or hard of hearing in the UK. The Hear to Help project reduces isolation for people with a hearing loss by providing practical support and, with the help of our members and customers, we are determined to raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile cause.”

Places for this event are running our fast! If you would like to reserve your place, or to donate to this worthwhile cause, pop into the Northallerton Co-operative food store, Boroughbridge Road, Northallerton, DL7 8BN. RNID is proud to be The Co-operative Charity of the Year for 2009. As part of the partnership we are encouraging everyone to check their hearing - go to www.rnid.org.uk/hearingmatters

It's a fact

Charles I is supposed to have resided in Porch House as a visitor before the Civil War--early 1640's and then was a prisoner there when the Scots had handed him over to us about 1647 or so. He tried to escape through a skylight.
